Shimano introduces the new Shimano Dura Ace 9100 power meter to the market. The Shimano Dura Ace 9100 power meter fits perfectly into the current Dura Ace 9100 top group. The Shimano power meter contains all the features you could want from a power meter. The design of the Shimano Dura Ace 9100 power meter is compact and discreet. With the Hollowtech-2 crank arms, Shimano is characterized by extremely high stiffness at lowest weight.

Technique

 
The measurement technology of the Shimano Dura Ace 9100 power meter is integrated in the crank arms, but the "brain" of the power meter lies in the spider. As the measuring technology is integrated in both crank arms, the power for the right and left leg is measured separately. This allows the driver to identify any asybalanacs and train them specifically. With a measurement error of +/-2%, the Shimano Dura Ace 9100 power meter is at eye level with other top power meters. Due to the design of the Shimano power meter, changing the chainring is easy and does not affect the accuracy of the power meter.
 
Data evaluation and compatibility of the Shimano Dura Ace 9100 power meter
 
The new E-TUBE platform from Shimano enables system checks or firmware updates via a smartphone and tablet. Furthermore, the Shimano Dura Ace 9100 power meter has the ANT+, as well as the Bluetooth technology and can therefore be connected to almost all ANT+ and Bluetooth devices. The battery of the Shimano Dura Ace 9100 power meter is integrated in the crankshaft. The power meter is charged with a small magnetic adapter so that no cover or lid has to be opened. This ensures a clean optical design and that the weather resistance is maintained. As there is no USB port on the power meter, the system is completely waterproof.
 
Facts of the Shimano Dura Ace 9100
 
The Shimano Dura Ace 9100 is available in crank lengths from 165 to 180 mm. The crank arms are made of aluminum. The Q-factor is 146mm. The power meter has a spider with 110 BCD (bolt circle diameter) and 4 asymmetrical arms so you can only use original Shimano chainrings of the current series. The axle is made of steel and uses Hollowtech 2 technology. Compared to the standard Shimano Dura Ace crank, the power meter version weighs about 60-70 grams more. The total weight is accordingly between 650 and 700 grams, depending on the used chainring gradation and crank length. The color of the power meter is black to dark gray.
